Guided Setup Option

March 2025 Malik Dev Sur

The Guided Setup Option is for families and teachers who want a clear starting point before the first cut. Instead of handing over a box of parts and hoping for the best, this option walks you through the layout, the tool check, and the order of assembly for any kit in the range.

You get a short planning sheet that lists what to prepare: a flat work surface, a damp cloth for sawdust, and a spot where small pieces won't roll away. The sheet also flags the two or three steps where beginners usually hesitate — fitting the base panel, aligning the roof, and sanding edges before paint. Knowing these in advance saves a lot of second-guessing mid-build.

The setup call itself is a 20-minute video session with one of our workshop leads. You share your kit number, and they talk through the specific pieces in your box. If you are working with a group of children, they can suggest a sensible split of tasks so no one is waiting around. If you are building solo, they adjust the pace and point out where you can skip ahead.

After the call, you receive a short written recap with the key measurements and the order of steps. That recap stays with the kit, so if you pause for a week and come back, you are not lost. The whole point is to remove the friction of figuring things out alone — not to make the build easier, but to make it clearer.

This option suits first-time builders, school groups with mixed ages, and parents who want to feel confident before involving their kids. It is also useful if you bought a kit as a gift and want to pass along a bit of guidance with it.
